Dr. Gautam Mahapatra

Dr. Gautam Mahapatra is a Distinguished Graduate of IIT, Dhanbad. He was Awarded ‘President Gold Medal,’ ‘Best Student Award of the Institute,’ and ‘University Blue’ for his Excellence in Academics, Sports, and Co-curricular Activities, and for demonstrating a high degree of Moral and Righteousness. In 1992, he secured the first rank in the All India CSIR Examination and received CSIR Fellowship. A brilliant scholar and researcher whose seminal project work brought him ‘Dr. Hari Narin Medal by MGGI at a very young age. Dr. Gautam Mahapatra has 30+ years of Research and Project Implementation experience in IT and Computer Science in Defence R&D organization. He is a director-grade scientist at DRDO. As Technology Director IT, he has led all IT initiatives of Research Centre Imarat (RCI), a premier R&D Laboratory of DRDO. He has steered the Vision of IT Enablement of the R&D Organization. His expertise encompasses in Design and Development of Enterprise-Class IT Systems, Fault-tolerant systems, Cyber Defence and Analytics. Presently he is responsible for the development of state of art technologies in the field of Network Centric warfare, Mission planning systems. He has published many research papers and received many awards. To name a few- Nihilent Award of Excellence in E-Governance, Hall of Fame IT Person of the Year 2015, and Best CIO of the Year 2016.. He is associated with many professional bodies –IEEE, Indian Science Congress Association, CRSI, etc. He is a Fellow of CSI, IETE, and the Institute of Engineers.
